Jessie Gallan, the oldest woman of Scotland, generously shares her secret in achieving her 109-year-old life. Her simple but humorous, answer will definitely surprise you!
According to the laid back oldest woman of Scotland, her secret is eating porridge for breakfast, having a daily exercise, and avoiding men!
“My secret to a long life has been staying away from men…”





Miss Gallan, who celebrated her 109th birthday at the Crosby House Care home in Aberdeen, shared with a kidding smile painted on her face.
“They are just more trouble than they are worth.” The 109-year-old woman added. Sharing how she had led an independent life since she was 13-years-old.
“I always worked hard and seldom would I ever take a holiday. I left home when I was 13 and began a job milking cows.”





Jessie, who never entertained the idea of marriage, spent her life working. After she left school, she worked in a farm kitchen. Later on, she took up housemaid’s job at a wealthy home in Gray Street, Aberdeen. Then, she worked at the historical Lauriston Hotel at Ballater as a waitress for 10 years.
“She’s absolutely amazing.” A caregiver of Crosby House Care shared about Jessie. In addition, according to the staff, Jessie is one of the home’s most popular residents due to her kindness and approachable demeanor.
With the wit and sense of humor Jessie displayed in her interview conducted by The Daily Mail, Jessie sure lived her life to the fullest and to the longest!
